Anyone hear how Harper's fundraiser turned out? Heard it may have been cancelled due to lack of interest!

I saw awhile back on this forum about Centerpoint development building a shopping center on the vacant land where Super 1 is not sure about the actual super 1 building if it is part of it or not

I'm not sure that the Super 1 location is a high enough traffic area for anything except a Grocery store. The square footage is to big for the value it may bring for retail.

It was, indeed, a most excellent event. Congratulations and thank you to my fellow veterans and to the many folks who worked hard to make yesterday's event happen.

Noticed at the weekend that Popeyes is now open, with that and the remodeling at ALDI that intersection will see a new lease of life.

Now if only the Super One building could be filled... I'm surprised that chunk of land hasn't been bought up for a big box store of some description, there can't be many lots that size remaining around the area.

WOW...what a great turnout for our Veterans. I would guesstimate that there were 3 times more people at this ceremony than last year.

Tim Lee gave (a Marine Vet) gave a moving speech. A hero to be sure.

Our Congressman, Sam Johnson, was the keynote speaker. A true hero in every sense of the word.

A special thanks to all that attended and a heartfelt appreciation of my personal gratitude to all the Vets that have served this great Nation.

Don't forget the Veterans Day Ceremony downtown Rowlett @ the flag poles. 3:00 this afternoon. Besides the Rowlett Honor Guard, the RHS Silver Rhythm Dancer Drill team in attendance as well.

While everyone knows my political feelings about our mayor, this is a time to put politics aside. As I recall Harper is retired Air Force. Either Lt. Colonel or Full Bird Colonel ...I think. That is one area that I will always respect.

Did you see Harpers last letter to his kingdom? He refers to himself as the chief financial officer of our City as with Cooper Institute. When he ran for office, his resume said he was retired. Maybe he is just tired and needs to really retire to someplace that would appreciate his interpretation of their City Charter. He must not have read any of ours except what he had crammed down our throats.

The letter I am referring to from him is frightening. How can he tell we have all these problems when he has done nothing than more lay off of employees and more to come so we hear.

We thought Ms. Humble would not let him take over her job but when you watch them on their talk show, you see who is "rowing the boat".

Stay away from lowes also. A friend had them measure for carpet and decided to go elsewhere and lowes had measured her house a 100 square feet too big.
