ALDI - Ground is broken
« Thread started on: Oct 29th, 2009, 09:29am »

Everyone, I'm sure many have noticed the activity at the old Brookshires building....I though they were digging for oil with that huge pile of dirt that they have brought out !

Anyway today I noticed that a sign has appeared along the fence line... ALDI coming soon!

http://www.aldifoods.com/index_ENU_HTML.htm

One less empty building! Wish a tenant could be found for the Super 1 building.

I see that the Blockbuster across from Brookshires is closing, I think that though is more a sign of technology changes with online movies, netflix etc.

The are even re-facing the building. It is really going to look nice. That building really needed a facelift. I hate to see Blockbuster closing...but their prices are too high. We do Netflix and I also do Redbox inbetween. I LOVE Redbox...what a bargain!

Not a fan of Blockbuster, hopefully we get something the community can use. I rent from Family Video. It's only $1.00. Talk about cheap

I still don't know how Blockbuster has been around this long. They were always much higher priced than any other video store. Oh well. I am on to netflix also.. $9/month for 1 disk at a time (unlimited), and download (streaming) movies. What a great deal.

Dang...I was hoping they were digging a grave for Harper's political career.

Actually I noticed yesterday that they have removed ALL of the concrete in the parking lot...I assumed the dirt was being put down prior to re-cementing the lot...

Did you see Harpers last letter to his kingdom? He refers to himself as the chief financial officer of our City as with Cooper Institute. When he ran for office, his resume said he was retired. Maybe he is just tired and needs to really retire to someplace that would appreciate his interpretation of their City Charter. He must not have read any of ours except what he had crammed down our throats.

The letter I am referring to from him is frightening. How can he tell we have all these problems when he has done nothing than more lay off of employees and more to come so we hear.

We thought Ms. Humble would not let him take over her job but when you watch them on their talk show, you see who is "rowing the boat".
